A few things

1) PDA is very common. If you aren’t with someone, get ready to be reminded of your single status on a pretty regular basis.
2) There is some serious smog. Get ready to inhale exhaust. However, b/c the city is flat and there is wind, the sky is always blue.
3) The Botanical Park where I go running is loaded with cats. Tons. Apparently its known for that. This morning on my run I saw a cat fight – a real one – not two bitchy girls arguing.
4) When the wine is cheap, get the expensive one, after all, its still cheap. If not then “you get what you paid for” comes into play. This white wine I bought has got some TANG! In my defense though the store I stopped in when I bought it was pretty ghetto.
5) The subway is ridiculously cheap. Basically its about a quarter. But they don’t announce the stops – so pay attention.
6) Here’s something fun the doorman told me – when it gets very windy out – ie: pre-stormish, sometimes bats fly into the buildings. So a wayward bat may fly into my apartment if it gets too windy out. Or it may just slam into the window and who knows – die on my balcony? Sad – bats are the spiders of the sky. They kill pests. Poor things – blind and all.
7) Black MC Hammer type pants are very popular amongst girls here. Not flattering, ladies. When it comes to retarded clothing statements, muscle pants must be in the top 5.
8) There are some hot people here, but that’s kept in check by a healthy amount of pretty damn unattractive folks as well.

Yes those mc hammer pants have been popular in BA at least since January 2005, if not before that. They are starting to migrate to North America. Have seen a few in the stores here in Vancouver, but have yet to see them on the street.
