These days...
studying for the GRE is coming along...the test is this coming thursday at 10 AM

I saw James Bond - excellent excellent. Daniel Craig - Lordy Lordy.

Cant get my mind off a hilarious SNL sketch...Bobby and I have played it at least 2 dozen times. Hasn't gotten old yet. Please dont think less of me.

why do i even keep this up?
dunno why i keep up with this... i guess people need to catalogue their lives sometimes, keep track of failures, accomplishments, make their lives real by writing things down rather than just thinking about them blah blah blah.
how is my life real these days? my worries about the GRE and impending application to USC. Trying to get one tenant out and another in as seemlessly as possible. Longing to put my old voicemail message back into effect "Hi, this is Karen. Please send a text message, I dont check voicemail that often. I may or may not call you back". Something to that effect. A little harsh, but there was no delicate way to say "i hate voicemails, if you leave one, i may never listen to it". Got really excited about a key box that holds 120 keys. Just got it in the mail the other day, already attached all the numbers to the key chains. Now its on to getting copies of all our buildings keys. Yes, this constitutes "excitement" these days. It used to be "oh great, the show sold out and my advertising budget hasn't even been fully spent!" A little cooler. Cooler - but that didn't translate into much for me. Concert come and gone. One more show to factor into the ups and downs of a year in shows. Contributing to the business that actually makes me better off is cool. Having buildings to be proud of and streamlining the operations - thats cool. I'm relieved I feel that way.
You know I played scrabble and enjoyed conversing with some smart boys late last week. Only until afterward did I realize how wonderful conversation can be and how much I miss it. My friend from BA, Naila, was great to talk to. A little hard-headed, but also very open-minded. Interesting combination.
So here are some pics of the past few days...I apologize for the sideways ones...
KG
went to this lady's house that is completely decorated in Christmas trees, ornaments etc. She even LOOKS LIKE MRS. CLAUS.
the pink shot is of an Easter-themed tree. Trying to capture the mood of the place in photo was impossible, so i decided to put in a close up of that tree instead.

Carlos took me to the Endeavor Christmas party, then we met up with Bobby and two visitors from Argentina at the Rainbow. This shot was taken walking to Mel's Drive in for some food after the Rainbowl.

Siblings at the opening of Project's new gallery. The lovely Henning girls and Robert and Robert. Those two are nearly indistinguishable...

Played Nintendo Wii. Its fuuuuuuun. Here's some crazy blood-thristy rabbits in a Roman Colosseum setting in the video game RayMan (I think thats the name). Whoever came up with the game MUST HAVE BEEN ON ACID....

Why are guys always soooo impressed with Scarface?!?! I mean, its a great movie, but the average male's glee at seeing this picture just makes me want to ask them From whence the "Awww yeah!" ? Is it that you see a little of yourself in Scarface? Do you fancy yourself a ruthless maniac who'll kill anyone that gets in the way of your business?

Found that usb cable I needed...
Its 2:30 AM - i'm restless and cant sleep, so i cleaned and voila, tucked behind my headrest, the usb cable i needed to load the pics from the trusty canon.
moving on.
I have a very very deep regret about one occasion when I went on and on and on and on about my hair, so I'll keep this short (there's a pun in here ;) I got bangs, see?

In the previous entry I mentioned my golf pro, Jeff Barber. Just look at him, there he is, puffin' away at a stogie at like 9:30 AM. Bob, Fern and I adore him. There's one thing he does though, that just makes me feel awful. He's so damn encouraging I feel like an idiot. He'd show the silver lining at gun point if need be...dammit, Jeff, you make me feel like I showed up to the course in a short bus!

Here's our golf posse which includes little Raymond who outplayed me by the way. He's, ohhhhhhhhhh, about 5 years old. His uncle, I forgot his name, the guy on the left. Then Fern, Jeff, Bobby and our new buddy, Eric. He's an animator, formerly an architect. Cool guy. You cant see it, but on my shirt is says "golf!". Didn't help my game any.

I've been obsessing over chandeliers. I have a miniature one in my bedroom now (big ups to Bobby for the masterful installation work). This little precious number I had put in at our LaPeer building. There's another gorgeous crystal one in the dining room, too. Much bigger though. This one has a touch of old Louisiana I thought...and the dark green of that small hallway really makes it pop. Its my pride and joy I tell you. Hung every crystal myself.

This past Tuesday the El Rey had a party. They've already had shows there, but this was a catered and open bar thing they hosted since the remodel. Awesome catching up with the people. I was so lucky to work there, completely grateful for the experience.

There's a few things to look at. Honestly I've been so busy these past few weeks that I've neglected my friends and not read a drop of fiction or put on a cd. Bananas.
Now begins a hardcore session of mornings at the gym, 3 hours at the library, then work till 6pm - the GRE is on Dec 21...tick tock, tick tock ;)

Wicked awesome new computah!!!
so i wanted to put pictures in my last post to update it, but all my pics are on my pc that is currently unplugged and sitting behind me in my hallway waiting to be sent downstairs. So i sat in front of this nifty new number that has a camera in the monitor and took some photos using nifty effects to produce nifty images. dont mind being a model if i know my image is being altered...
and there's the super innocent orange glow one...

there's the one of me discovering my twin and thinking that maybe, just maybe, its my reflection in the mirror...but NO! I have a twin, and...i'm shocked!

my comic book heroine pic

and the sketch art Sin City type of picture - gritty, artistic...

myself 2000 years from now where we'll be looking just like the aliens we've seen in movies, drawings, heard about in kidnapping accounts. aliens will have bangs and wear hoodies. how down to earth...
